I recently finished a couple pairs of earrings which are now listed in my Etsy Shop. The proceeds from these two pairs of earrings will go to American Red Cross and Doctors Without Borders to help in their efforts in Haiti. I made this from a section of electroformed Kangaroo Paw branch. I was about to find a way to cover the hole, but realized it looks like a little heart. It reminds me of one of those little love hearts you'd find carved into a tree, so I kept it. The ring is surprisingly comfortable.

I think after this week I'll start doing a weekly posting with rings for that week, instead of daily ones. You can see them all on my Flickr page, though!

I gave myself a bit of a break with this challenge yesterday and just hunted around the house for some materials. I made this one out of a cat toy and steel wire...hope the kitties don't mind!

This teacup handle has been sitting on my bench for a while and quickly became the inspiration for my daily ring.

One of the fabulous members of EtsyMetal, Nina Dinoff, proposed a challenge the other day: to create a ring a day for a month, and possibly even for a year! I have decided to join in. There aren't really any "rules", but just the encouragement to create.

These rings could take 5 seconds, or 5 hours, as long as I create something, every day. You can check out the EtsyMetal blog for more details, and have a glance at the Flickr group as well! Above is my first entry for the Ring A Day (RAD 2010) challenge.

I decided to partake in this challenge partially because I want to get back to being more involved with EtsyMetal, and partially because I want to push myself with my creativity. Last year, I had many other things that I needed to concentrate on, and this year I would like to refocus my attention on my jewelry, my business, getting fit, and saving money. Thanks for reading!
